Citizens in **MANY** areas of the U.S.A. are startled that tanks, troops, assault aircraft are BEING DEPLOYED on the streets throughout the U.S.A. today, Saturday, June 17. Video below shows tanks on the highways of Idaho, Osprey Helicopters dropping Marines in California residential neighborhoods, and trainloads of military armor moving in Montreal, Quebec, CANADA.

At least some could monitor if they don't want to transmit. Maybe put a ham antenna in a tree or old TV antenna tower?

NOW is the time to prepare, get a ham radio, CB etc just so you can hear something, hopefully. You can get both cheap. Baofeng uv5r are around $25 on Amazon or if you can afford get higher power (watts) additional antennas, extra battery. Uv5r are 4 watts output at the antenna may say 5 watts in specs so get a 40, 50 watt whatever and learn now if u can. I'm new to this also.
Maybe put one in in Faraday cage just in case.
You can, however, look at sample tests online and make your own determination — Remember, you DO NOT need to pass a test to purchase or just listen, only to transmit. FWIW, when things go sideways it won’t be an issue…

I suggest you just get a radio. If you can buy a used transceiver and get an antenna up, that would be the best.
The cheaper and easier option would be to buy one of the cheap Chinese receivers before trading with China is halted.
This is important... You want a receiver that covers the HF band (3 to 30 MHz) AND you want it to have single side band (SSB) capability.
All commercial shortwave broadcasts use full AM modulation and any shortwave radio can pick them up.
If you want to hear individual ham operators talking, your radio will need SSB capability.
During an emergency, the commercial stations will probably go silent to prevent becoming targets and even if they don't, they will most likely put out approved info only.
The real info will be with the individual ham operators.
You must act quickly. Buy a SSB radio while you still can.
Note for potential purchasers that some radios that advertise themselves as "SSB capable" only have a beat-frequency oscillator ( BFO ) which will technically allow you to receive SSB, but they require such critical fine tuning, adjusting of RF gain, and BFO oscillator frequency, as to be impractical. The transmission is usually over before you get them clarified. Also, most such radios have some frequency drift until warmed up, further adding to the fuss. It works; I used it for years, but the BFO system is much more cumbersome.
True SSB capability today involves a "mode" selector button or switch which allows actual selection of AM/USB/LSB using a more advanced "product detector". These allow you to zero right in on a ham SSB broadcast. This is much easier for those new to ham listening.
Most new radios have the mode selector, so mostly beware used radios.

I believe he is using "package" in reference to the size of each group of military vehicles seen together. These are quite small groups overall if they are expecting any kind of attack, but to me that points more towards a civil issue then a war issue, at least for now. Several old Prophecies state that we will get attacked when we are consumed with internal affairs, and/or a civil disorder/war.
I see 3 main possibilitys, and I list them with the most likely, first (to me that is)...
1.) The banks are going to crash and they know it, so they need to get into position now before it happens.
2.) Expected Attack incoming, maybe because NATO is going to hit Russia hard at the end of the exercise overseas, or they have intel telling them Russia/China, etc are going to attack us?
3.) Takeover of the liberal Socialist USA destruction team. Q type activitys which said a military takeover would happen, along with 10 days of darkness, and Martial Law while they arrest the remaining bad guys.
Just sharing my opinion on this activity. I am not sure what to think really. The "packages" seem too small to me also to believe it's prep for a war on our soil. They are more fitting of a civil war type situation. If the banks did crash, it would be nearly instant anarchy especially in the big cities.

Edited to add: There is a huge government nuclear facility that's not on the map about 50 miles west of Idaho Falls. Actually, it was 16 separate nuclear facilities when I was there many years ago. Some maps will have what looks like a small state in a shaded color and labeled INEL (Idaho National Engineering Labs). Its many square miles of nuclear processing, waste, labs, and research.

As for the Canadian Armor into Montreal thats also highly out of the iregular. Had it been moving East towards CFB Valcartier or into New Brunswick towards CFB Gagetown then I would say prepping for summer training. However into a major urban Area especially coinciding with this weekend being F1 Montreal Grand Prix the streets will be loaded or closed with tourists. Not exactly the smartest thing to be driving dozens if not hundreds of LAVs around in. Somethings a foot as its happening towards the end of the European NATO EX.
